Wednesday, May 10, 2006 - back dated!

Due to popular demand I have decided to post a recepie for a very tasty and VERY cheap traditional Yugoslavian dish. In the native language it's called Nasuvo s Krompirom but I have adapted the name to Peasant Pasta. If you find yourself with not much in the cupboards then try this.. Although it sounds kinda weird, TRUST ME! You won't be disappointed. I promise.. (well, I hope you wont anyway...)

Peasant Pasta

3-4 large potatoes. Pasta to serve 3-4 (Cochiglie or Fettuccine) 1 large onion. Paprika powder. A drop of single/double cream (can be substituted with milk) Aromat spice. (substitute with salt or vegetable stock)

Peel and cut potatoes in 4-6 cubes.Bring to boil.

Dice the onion and fry it golden browntogether with the paprika powder and the aromat spice.
Boil pasta.

When potatoes are ready add the fried onion and a drop of cream and mash together into a creamy mash.Add pasta and mix it all up.

Serve with a green/colourful sallad.

:)

Enjoy
